Why Korean fans like to sing along at foreign artist's conerts .

Some people hate it when people in the audience sing along with the artist in concerts but many foreign artsit who visited Korea seem to like it.

Noel Gallagher, the former lead guitarist, vocalist and principal songwriter for hit English rock band Oasis, made his way back to Seoul to perform two sold-out shows in april.

Gallagher first visited Korea in 2009 as a member of Oasis. His second visit was in 2012 with High Flying Birds.

“When I first came to Korea, we had never been before and we hadn’t known anyone else who had been. We didn’t know what to expect,” he said.

“We thought that because it was so close to Japan that the people were going to be like the Japanese, but we soon found out that nothing could be further from the truth,” he added. “Ever since that first visit, I have always looked forward at looking at the tour list and seeing where Korea is; I knew it was going to be a great show because the people are up for it.”

"It is indeed a wonderful experience that people from the other side of the world who are non English-speaking audience all sang along with you, and they are really good people."

Paul McCartney delighted his South Korean fans in May with a much-anticipated concert packed with his best-known songs.

The highlight came about two hours into the concert when the 72-year-old singer played the first chords of "Let It Be," causing the entire audience to stand up from their seats.

The singer, apparently moved by the enthusiasm of his South Korean fans, shouted out, "Korea, you are cool!"

During the concert, McCartney sang both Beatles hits and his own, including "Eight Days A Week," "Save Us," "Paperback Writer" and "The Long and Winding Road."

Fans held up signs and mobile phones to light up the stadium as McCartney expressed his thanks by stretching out his arms to the sides, then putting his hand on his chest and finally holding his head in his hands.

He also blew kisses to the audience as they sang along to his performance of "Hey Jude."

Music critics and expert, Lee dae hwa said, "Seldom visits by world-class artists compared to neighboring country, Japan in the past have changed the attitude of Korean fans. Korean fans think it's once in a life time oppotunity to see performances of 'legend' and showing enthusiastic and passionate response and sing along in concert out of courtesy to foreign artist who came to Korea."

Other foreign artists who had concerts in Korea such as Metallica,Eminem and Celine Dion have showed affection to Korean fans for their fantastic response as well.
